Client Challenge
Riverside United FC was seeking an independent assessment to determine the viability of a new 5,000-seat USL stadium hosting both men's and women's professional soccer. The club needed objective financial projections, event demand forecasts and an economic impact study to evaluate feasibility and identify credible funding options in partnership with the City of Riverside.
Approach
Victus Advisors developed operating pro formas for both the stadium (StadCo) and the teams (TeamCo), including revenue streams from ticket sales, premium seating, concessions, sponsorships and naming rights. The work included sensitivity analyses on attendance, an expanded 15,000-seat scenario and evaluation of multiple partnership and funding options including public-private structures, tax increment financing and potential surcharges.
Benefits to Client
The analysis confirmed that the proposed stadium could operate with a positive margin at stabilized attendance levels and generate roughly $18.2 million in annual economic output, support 246 jobs and produce $6.6 million in labor income within Riverside. The findings equipped Riverside United FC and city stakeholders with a financial roadmap and a set of funding strategies to pursue, positioning the project to attract investment, secure partnerships and deliver community and economic benefits.
